Brian Meyer, Founder
Brian Meyer is a seasoned investment management executive with over 30 years of expertise across legal, compliance, and operational domains in hedge funds and private equity. Brian is currently registered as a director with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and has over 20 years of experience serving as a director of Cayman Islands and Luxembourg funds and entities.
Brian is also a frequent speaker and moderator at industry conferences and has published thought leadership on legal operations, fund compliance, and technology.
Brian is a partner of AirGC, which provides top-notch fractional general counsel services to private fund clients. Launched in 2024, AirGC is focused on serving as general counsels or assistant general counsels to private fund managers at a fraction of the cost of traditional outside counsel.
Prior to joining AirGC, since 1985, Brian served in a number of roles, including co-Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, at Fir Tree Partners, a multi-fund investment manager that peaked at $13 billion in AUM. At Fir Tree Partners, Brian played a pivotal role in overseeing the firm’s strategic direction and operational functions as assets under management grew to $13 billion during his tenure. He has extensive experience in fund formation, corporate governance, management company operations, and tax optimization structures across jurisdictions globally.
His prior experience includes executive roles at Veronis Suhler Stevenson, The Official Information Company, Revlon, Inc., where he handled M&A, securities, and financings. Brian began his career as a corporate associate at Latham & Watkins and Milbank.
He holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, where he was Executive Editor of the California Law Review, and an A.B. in History, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California, Berkeley.
